News: Scotland Becomes First UK Nation To Ban Pavement Parking

The Scottish Parliament passed a bill on 10 October 2019 to implement a Pavement Parkingnationwide footway parking ban.

The ban means that people in wheelchairs, parents with pushchairs and older adults who are currently forced into oncoming traffic when faced with vehicles blocking their path will now be able to enjoy a new freedom.

Disability Equality Scotland supported the campaign led by Living Streets Scotland. We consulted with our members and found that 98% were in agreement that a ban should be introduced.
