DES Member positive railway journey

“I have been totally blind since birth, and I do a lot of voluntary work, which means I have to travel on trains a lot.
I absolutely love it. The assistance at stations is really excellent and I now don’t worry because I know that I’m not going to be forgotten to be taken to the train unless something extraordinary happens.
The train managers are getting better, and they will check that assistance comes to the train to pick me up, and if, for some reason, they don’t, the train manager will take me to a taxi.
If I’m going on a longer journey, I go first class and the people helping with the food are excellent.
I would recommend going on the train.”
