Survey: Help Ensure Electric Vehicle Accessibility for All

an electric vehicle that is charging

Harmful emissions from petrol and diesel vehicles are a major contributor to poor air quality and responsible for thousands of premature deaths in the UK every year. As a result, government have launched a number of initiatives introducing policy to combat these issues, one of those policies is phasing out the sale of new petrol and diesel cars by 2032 in Scotland (2030 for the rest of the UK) therefore only zero emission vehicles will be available to buy meaning the installation of appropriate charging infrastructure is a necessity.

Connected Kerb is an electric vehicle charge point operator with a mission to ensure that no one is left behind in the transition to zero emission motoring and we’d like to understand what would improve the charging experience for disabled drivers. Our intention through this survey is to understand the challenges, design future proofed charging solutions that make electric vehicles more accessible for all. The intention is not to reduce the number of dedicated disabled parking spaces, but add functionality with the introduction of EV charging facilities.
