Queen Street Station Redevelopment Update – March 2020

Queen Street train Station

I wanted to advise you on changes taking place to the station layout at the start of next week, as part of the redevelopment of Glasgow Queen Street station.

From Monday 23rd until 30th March, the existing entrance at Dundas Street and also access from the High Level gateline to Platform 8 will close to allow works to be carried out in this area of the station.

During this time, access from the High Level to Platform 8 will be via Platform 2, where it formerly was prior to the introduction of the new gateline – access also remains via the lift on Platform 7.  Access to Platform 9 from the High Level via Platform 2 remains unchanged.

Also on the 23d March, the new entrance at the West George Street/Dundas Street corner of the station will open, as too will the new accessibility ramp at this entrance.

As advised within the last update, access to/from platforms 8 and 9, via the High Level, is closed overnight from Sundays to Thursdays, 8pm to 5.30am until 2nd April. During the overnight closures, access to the High Level will continue to remain via the lifts on Platform 7 and also the stairs at the North Hanover Street entrance. Access from the Low Level is via the lifts on platforms 8 and 9, as well as the stairs at North Hanover Street.

Further updates will follow over the course of the next few weeks –  in the meantime, should you have questions or require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
