Aberdeen Accessible Transport Summit

Aberdeen Terminal with Union Square

As part of our on-going work with Transport Scotland we will be holding an Accessible Transport Summit and an Access Panel Consultation event in Aberdeen on the 20th March 2018. The aim of this event is to bring together representatives from equality groups with transport providers to discuss specific issues relating to travel and transport. This is our opportunity to report back on some of the issues we hear from our members, and to have the chance to discuss ways that providers and disabled people (and other equalities groups) can work together to bring about improvements, in line with the Scottish Government’s Accessible Travel Framework.

The summit will be taking place on board the NorthLink Ferry whilst it is docked at Jamieson’s Quay. The summit will run from 11am until 1pm, there will be a networking lunch from 1pm until 1.45pm followed by the Access Panel Consultation from 1.45pm until 2.30pm. There will be transport providers, stakeholders, and representatives from equalities groups in attendance.

If you would like to attend the summit then it is imperative you fill out a registration for each person attending. You will not be able to board the ferry unless you fill out a registration form, found by clicking on the Eventbrite link below. We will have to provide NorthLink with a list of those attending for security purposes. There are 20 car parking spaces available on a first come first serve basis but you must vacate the car parking space by 3pm to allow passengers who are sailing in the evening to park their vehicle.
